Shipping & Collection Policy

At Chic Embroidery & Ink, we strive to get your custom creations to you as quickly and safely as possible. Because we specialize in custom embroidery and ink work, please take note of our processing and shipping timelines below.

1. Processing & Lead Times

All items at Chic Embroidery & Ink are handcrafted or customized.

  • Production Time: Standard orders typically take [Insert e.g., 7–10] business days to process before they are shipped.

  • Custom Orders: Larger or more complex custom designs may require additional time. We will notify you via email if your order requires an extended lead time.

  • Please note: Production does not run on weekends or South African public holidays.

2. Shipping with The Courier Guy

We partner with The Courier Guy to provide reliable door-to-door delivery across South Africa.

  • Standard Shipping (Economy): * Major Centres (JHB, CPT, DBN, PTA): 1–3 business days from dispatch.

    • Regional/Outlying Areas: 3–5 business days from dispatch.

  • Shipping Rates: Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your delivery address and the weight of your parcel.

  • Tracking: Once your order has been handed over to The Courier Guy, you will receive a shipping confirmation email containing your tracking number and a link to track your parcel online.

3. Local Collection (Pickup)

If you are local, you can skip the shipping costs by choosing the "Local Pickup" option at checkout.

  • Collection Point: Sonstraal, Durbanville

  • Process: Once your order is ready for collection, you will receive an email or WhatsApp notification with the full pickup address and available time slots.

  • Requirements: Please bring your Order Confirmation email (digital or printed) when you come to collect.

4. Delivery Issues & Redirection

  • Incorrect Address: We are not responsible for deliveries to incorrect addresses provided by the customer. If a parcel is returned to us due to an incorrect address, the customer will be liable for the re-delivery fee.

  • P.O. Boxes: The Courier Guy requires a physical street address for delivery; we cannot ship to P.O. Boxes or Postnet Suites.

  • Delays: While we and The Courier Guy aim for prompt delivery, we are not liable for delays caused by factors outside our control, such as load shedding, severe weather, or national strike action.

5. Damaged Parcels

If your parcel arrives clearly damaged, please take a photo of the packaging before opening it and contact us immediately at embroiderychic1@gmail.com. This allows us to raise a claim with the courier service promptly.
